offers a variety of lesson packages that can be tailored to the specific needs
of each student … from the beginning golfer, through the mid handicapper, to
the accomplished player trying to shave the last stroke from their handicap. Our
United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) certified instructors are trained
to identify swing problems and to teach the student how to correct those
problems and improve their swing. They
use time tested and proven techniques, along with hi-tech instruction tools, to
help each student understand the basics of a good golf swing and implement those
basics so they can play better. Our instructors keep up on new teaching teaching techniques developed thorugh the USGTF, and have contributed an original article that was printed in the Summer 2009 issue of "Golf Teaching Pro" magazine published by the USGTF. Lessons are offered all year, so golf in
Pittsburgh
doesn’t have to end in the Fall. In
fact, taking lessons in the off-season (Winter!) can be the best option for
golfers who are trying to implement significant changes in their swing.
Each lesson package starts with a one- hour video swing analysis that
results in a detailed video DVD highlighting key areas where the student has strengths or weaknesses. The student
can then review the video DVD to assess their progress and determine which
swing component they need to work on. Depending
on the lesson package chosen, the student may be videoed several times.
The original video is then used with side-by-side swings to confirm
progress and highlight additional opportunities for improvement.
A good golf swing requires more than just understanding
what to do. Change and improvement
can only be made if there is a commitment to practice the correct pre-shot
routine and swing mechanics. The
student must achieve proper technique through repetition so that it becomes
natural to use that technique when out on the course.
That’s why lesson packages include unlimited
use of our
Learning
Center
for practice. This includes use of
our learning tools, practice nets and Full Swing Golf Simulators. For students that are motivated to work on their swing while at home or at the practice range, we offer a variety of training aids for sale. We work with each student to determine which training aid is proper for the swing characteristic they are working on, as well as the proper technique for using that training device.
